U14

The U14's took on Abbeyfeale this weekend in a tightly contested game. The game was played between the 5 meters lines as each team threatened their opponents line throughout the game. The score-line at halftime was 0-0 which reflected the strong defensive play of both teams. Thing's opened up for Killorglin in the second half when James Leslie touched down the games first try which was well converted by Chris Kelliher. Chris Kelliher went on to score the teams second try and followed it up with an excellent conversion. Some great play from Killorglin throughout who's hard work in training paid off with their first win of the season, a full team effort, the team and coaches should be very proud!

U16's

Killorglin/Iveragh took the road to Ballydavid to take on RCD in the last game of Conference 2 in the hopes of coming back with a win and topping the table. Unfortunately it wasn't to be their day as they fell short 17-5. The U16's have had an excellent campaign so far and will be looking forward to bouncing back in the next round of fixtures in the Munster clubs competition.

U18.5

Killorglin/Castleisland played a rare Friday night game under the lights in Castlesisland against Newcastle West. A very tight and competitive game saw the scoreline level at 14-14 at half time. Unfortunately the second half saw Newcastle West pull away as the victors 31-19. Killorglin/Castleisland tries came from Jonathan Kerins, Denis Horan and Patrick Fitzgerald with a conversion each from Gonzalo Silva a and Tom Garry

Seniors

Killorglin took the short trip into Tralee to meet neighbours and rivals Tralee. Killorglin spent first part of match in their own half but defended superbly until an individual try by Tralee saw them take a 5-0 lead after 20 minutes that we were disappointed to concede. However, Killorglin responded well and shortly afterwards got 3 points back through a very well struck penalty by Gary O'Keefe from 40 metres out. From this Killorglin played really well and got their reward with a try by Stephen Cotter from a driving maul following excellent lineout work. Tralee scored a penalty on stroke of half time to leave scores level at 8 apiece.
In the second half both sides had opportunities. Tralee scored a converted try 10 minutes in but Killorglin responded strongly. From excellent attacking play on the right saw Shogie O'Sullivan cross the line. The score was upgraded to a penalty try to put sides level again. In deteriorating weather conditions both sides pushed for a score. Killorglin came very close near the end but unable to convert. A really good performance by a totally committed Killorglin team that needed the win. Three more league games in coming weeks to get results. Well done
