Killorglin travelled to Killarney for round 2 of the Kerry cups. The match was played in great weather conditions. Killorglin soon put width on the ball to great effect, after a great passing movement and good strength from Darragh O'Shea down the wing got Killorglin within 5 meters. Darragh then offloaded to Gary O'Keeffe who did well to get over the line. The lead was doubled 5 minutes later after more good attacking play touched down by Seamus Doyle. Killarney fought back strongly and were rewarded just before the water break with a try for 10-5 margin. Killarney lost a player to a yellow card. Killorglin punished this and piled on the pressure. An excellent block deep in Killarney territory from Cian Foley saw Killorglin gain possession and a quick recycle to get the ball to Shane O'Neill who crashed over the line just before half time. O'Neill's try was converted very well by Luke O'Shea from the touchline.

The second half saw Killorglin in their own half for long periods. Frustratingly when they did exit possession wasn't retained for long enough to build pressure. During the half all the substitutes came on with debuts by Jack Coffey and Aaron Houlihan. Killarney were held scoreless and from a turnover Trevor West made a great break on right hand side before passing to Darragh O'Shea who scored the final try that was converted by Luke O'Shea for a final score of Killarney 5 Killorglin  24.

Next Sunday sees the McElligott cup final between Killorglin and Tralee in Ballymalis. 2:30 pm KO.
