The U16s were away to table topping Abbeyfeale on Saturday for a game played in a torrential downpour. A poor start and a failure to stick to then game plan from the KIllorglin team gifted the home side two very soft tries within ten minutes. Killorglin came more into it as the game progressed and at least made Abbeyfeale work hard for their third try from an excellent back line move and at half time the scoreline stood at 17-0. In the second half the Killorglin performance was much improved and more suited to the conditions. Abbeyfeale registered another try but the second half belonged more to Killorglin in terms of territory and possession and this was rewarded finally with an excellent try from Adam Casey after multiple phases of sustained pressure in the home 22 in which every player in the Killorglin team must have touched the ball. Final score Abbeyfeale 24 Killorglin 5.
